Chapters 7-8

In this part of the book David gets a new baby sister and a new baby cousin. However, the family couldn't acknowledge that they had a new born until it was inspected. It turned out that the baby girl was perfectly normal. A couple days later, David's aunt came who he hasn't seen in a long time. He over hears his mother's and aunt's conversation but doesn't like what he hears. His aunt begs his mom to swap babies until her inspection was over because it was his aunts third time she got a "mutilated" baby. His mom gets angry and tells his dad. the aunt goes away with a good last word. Later on, David finds out that she has been found dead in a river but no sign of a baby. David becomes very afraid.

This is an interesting and sad part of the book. I find that David's aunt and uncle are very much alike. I was kind of intrigued when David's father is arguing with his aunt and mentions that she wears a cross around her neck. It seems that in this kind of day and age, the people only acknowledge the first 2 sentences of the Bible. However, how would they know the importance of the cross? for if they truly knew, than they would find out that God so loved the world that He sent His son to die for us and forgive us. They would have to realize that God loves all in the world, not just the ones in his image. I wonder what that cross means in this book.

David has become super cautious and a tad shameful about his telepathic powers. He is now aware of all the plaques in his house that have bold meanings. Uncle Axel realizes this and goes to talk with David. He mentions that the one kid who dropped off on their communication actually died, but had never been caught. Then, uncle Axel talks to contradict what the repentances teach them, to show David that the stuff he learns in church/school can't be entirely true.

This part is another awesome Axel moment. He has been to other places and has seen other religions. I think that as we go on in the book, uncle Axel will defend David when he's in trouble but could be killed. I think that sometime, David and his buddies are going to get caught and not many will survive but they might spark a revolution.
